but why? 2wd jimmy. To me anyway, it's sort of a why bother type of car.

CP. This is the definition of NP.

I agree. Not a bad price, but it's encroaching on the "Lifted Station Wagon" territory.

4x4 I say yes
2wd? NOPE.
If you just want it for reliable a to b driving you could offer less money but if that's it's only purpose...I'd be really hesitant to buy a Jimmy.
This is coming from a guy who owned an 88 S10 Blazer and an 04 Blazer and misses his 88 very, very much. Mine was a hopped up 4.3L with 4x4 tho.

I wouldn't need 4WD for what I do daily. If I ever needed 4WD, I have my dad's Silverado at my disposal.

If only it was 4wd..... $1,500 is what I'd do.

It seems like an ok price. They'll accept lower I'd float them an offer of $1500.
Really though I wouldn't bother with a 2wd Jimmy.

Everyone I know who's had a 4x4 Blazer or Jimmy has had the 4x4 stop working on them at one point or another.

I had a '94 Blazer in highschool/college. Window motors are turds on those so if one is bad, the others are likely going bad or have been replaced. I want to say it was a couple hundred to have an average shop replace one.
Other trouble areas would be rust on the doors and quarter panels, woefully weak rear leaf springs that sag, and an EGR on the Vortec version of the 4.3 that would frequently get stuck open due to carbon buildup and have to be cleared. Fairly easy to do, but annoying. Otherwise, they're pretty decent. Mine had 153k on the odo when I traded it in and still ran like a champ.

wow really? I didn't have any trouble with either my 88 or 04. I've actually never heard of that as an issue. And if it was going to happen the 04 would have been the likely one because it was electronic. Like that 94 would have if it was 4x4, it would have a shift lever on the floor (my 88 did too).
I'm not saying their perfect or anything but yeah I never had trouble with the 4x4. Had the trans go on the 88, but it had a whole lot more power than stock going through it and it was at 140k miles at that point.

Yeah, they all had newer ones with the electronic shifters. Didn't even think about these older ones being manually operated.

yeah unless they had an electronic version for GMC as an "upscale" option it should be manual.
I used to joke that I could put my truck in double neutral hahaha (the 4x4 box had it's own neutral).
But I actually had a 92 jimmy parts truck that I stole the seats out of so my 88 had 92 Jimmy seats and we ripped the electronics and cruise control out of it. 10-12 hour drives from NJ to MI and back with no cruise control and a bad knee SUCKED.

Why does the odometer say 82,000 miles?
